On 8 October, Salman Khan introduced the villain of his upcoming franchise film Dabangg 3. Salman took to social media to share that Sudeep Kiccha will be essaying the role of ‘Bali’ opposite Salman Khan’s avatar Chulbul Pandey.

The actor shared a poster featuring Sudeep Kiccha and wrote, “Villain jitna bada ho, usse bhidne mein utna hi mazaa aata hai. Introducing Sudeep Kiccha as Balli in Dabangg 3. (Fighting the villain is interesting only if he is big and powerful)“

It’s interesting that Salman picked the festival of Dussehra, celebrated as a reminder of good’s victory over evil, to introduce the character.

According to reports, Sudeep Kiccha found this role to be extremely challenging as he deeply respected Salman Khan as an actor and felt that he needed to look “bigger” than a character who was already so big (Salman Khan’s Chulbul).

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Kannada actor recalled the struggles of taking on the role of Bali. In one of the scenes, Bali was supposed to kick Salman on his chest. So when Salman said to Sudeep, “Buddy, kick me,” Sudeep immeditaly turned to Prabhudeva, who is directing the film, and said that he couldn’t do it as he had a lot of respect for the actor.

Recently on 6 October, Salman and his crew celebrated the wrap of shooting on the upcoming film and remarked on the happy coincidence of the film’s packup taking place on Vinod’s birthday. Vinod starred in the first two Dabangg films and played the part of Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey’s father Prajapati Pandey.

Salman posted the video on his Twitter and Instagram late Sunday evening with the simple caption, “#Dabangg3.” In the video, Salman shares a few word about the film wrapping up and Vinod Khanna’s birthday while being standing on set with director Prabhudeva and the rest of the film’s team. The video eventually zooms out to reveal the entire crew of the film saying together, “We miss you VK sir. God bless you.”
