Ranveer Singh is currently busy filming for his upcoming sports drama ‘83. In the midst of his busy schedule, he has already taken up another project. According to reports, Ranveer will play the lead role as a Gujarati man in Yash Raj Films’ upcoming Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be helmed by debutant writer-director Divyang Thakkar. A comedy film, the story will be set in Gujarat and is expected to go on floors in October. It will be produced by YRF’s Maneesh Sharma.
Ranveer also made the announcement on his Instagram, calling the film a “miracle script”.
“Its a ‘miracle script’!!! Thrilled to announce my next film - ‘JAYESHBHAI JORDAAR’”, he wrote on Instagram

Ranveer Singh also added that he was fascinated by the script in the first go itself. “The sheer brilliance of the writing compelled me to immediately green-light this film. Both humorous and poignant, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is right up there with the most solid on-paper material I've ever come across”, he said.

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming sports drama film ‘83 follows the story of India’s victory against the West Indies in the 1983 World Cup. It tracks the coming-of-age of not just a cricketing team but of a young nation in the eyes of the world. Ranveer Singh and rest of the cast have been undergoing training under former cricketers Mohinder Amarnath Bhardwaj and Kapil Dev. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and is scheduled to be released on 10 April 2020.
