URI: The Surgical Strike, starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, are running to packed theatres. However, the Aditya Dhar film’s team is working overtime to keep it from being leaked on illegal torrent sites.

And they have hit upon something quite brilliant. When users downloaded close to 4GB of movie file, all they got was this clip close to the opening sequence.

Still confused? What has happened is that the film’s makers have themselves released fake versions. They have worked on the simple logic that most viewers would give up encountering a fake after downloading a hefty 3.8GB worth data. What’s more, the fake clip encourages you to go and watch the film in the theatres.

Clever is what it is.
