Badshah to Play Singer in Debut Film as Actor

Rapper Badshah is set to make his acting debut in a film, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Sharma and Annu Kapoor. He says he is extremely nervous but will give it his best.

Directed by debutant Shilpi Dasgupta, the film is a slice of life entertainer. Producers Bhushan Kumar and Mahaveer Jain have joined hands with director-turned-producer Mrighdeep Singh Lamba for the yet untitled film.

"I am extremely nervous. However, now that I have taken the leap, I will give it my best. Bhushanji and Mrigh both kept convincing me on how perfect the role is for me. It's a film which is so unique and different," Badshah told IANS without revealing much about his role.

The film also features Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Nadira Babbar.

India's 'Binnu Ka Sapna' Wins at Short Film Fest in France

Binnu Ka Sapna, an Indian short film directed by Kanu Behl, has won the Student Jury Prize for best short at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2019.

Honoured by the international recognition, Behl said in a statement: "I'm thrilled with the honour. It was a pleasure to see Binnu connect with a larger audience and to experience their reactions and love for the film first hand. I now eagerly look forward to the film's release where it truly belongs - in India."

Binnu Ka Sapna is a 32-minute narrative short that plunges into a malignant psyche, exposing the ticking time bombs around us and the sparks that set them off. It goes through the harrowing transformation of a victim into an attacker, with society only serving as a catalyst. It marks the debut of Chetan Sharma as the titular Binnu.

The festival was held from February 1-9 in Paris.

Netflix's 'Firebrand' Trailer Is Out

The trailer to Netflix’s first original Marathi film, Firebrand, is out. The story explores the complexities of modern day relationships.

Firebrand is directed by National Award-winner Aruna Raje and produced by Priyanka Chopra’s production house Purple Pebble Pictures. It stars veteran Marathi actors such as Usha Jadhav, Girish Kulkarni, Sachin Khedekar and Rajeshwari Sachdev and rel.eases on Netflix on 22 February.

'Badla' Trailer Offers a Glimpse Into a Thrilling Saga

Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies has released the first trailer for their upcoming film Badla, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. The film is a thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh of Kahaani fame.

Akshay Shares Teaser From Period Film 'Kesari'

Akshay Kumar has shared a sneak peek into his upcoming period drama Kesari, which also stars Parineeti Chopra. He shared the short teaser video on Twitter, saying, “ It’s an UNBELIEVABLE TRUE STORY. Presenting the first one from the #GlimpsesOfKesari.”

The film releases on 21 March.

Shraddha Kapoor to Reunite With Tiger Shroff for 'Baaghi 3'

Shraddha Kapoor is coming back to the "Baaghi" franchise.

The actor has been cast as the female lead opposite Tiger Shroff in the series' third film.

The film marks the actor's return who starred in the first installment "Baaghi" in 2016.

Shraddha said she is looking forward to the film.

"I'm super excited to be back with the 'Baaghi' family. I had such a memorable time being a part of 'Baaghi' and this is my third film with Sajid sir, second with Tiger and first with Ahmed sir. The script is amazing and I'm excited to be a part of this movie," she said in a statement.

Choreographer-filmmaker Ahmed Khan, who helmed "Baaghi 2", will return to the director's chair for the threequel.

The sequel to the 2018 film, which starred Disha Patani opposite Tiger, is co-produced by Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala, under the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

"The entire team of 'Baaghi' is very happy to have Shraddha Kapoor back. Tiger and Shraddha's pair was extremely loved in 'Baaghi' and I am sure that fans of the franchise will be as excited as we are to have them together," Sajid said.

Shraddha also stars in Nitesh Tiwari's directorial "Chhichhore", also produced by Sajid. The shooting is underway. She is currently filming "Street Dancer", also featuring Varun Dhawan.

"Baaghi 3" is scheduled to release on March 6, 2020.

'My Name Is Khan' Changed My Life: Varun Dhawan

Actor Varun Dhawan says he learnt a lot from the film My Name Is Khan, which has clocked nine years since its release. Varun started his journey in Bollywood as an assistant director to Karan Johar on My Name Is Khan in 2010. Two years later, he made his acting debut with Student of the Year, helmed by the filmmaker.

The Badlapur star tweeted a photograph from the sets of the film and wrote: "Nine years of My Name Is Khan, a film I learnt so much on. It practically changed my life."

Karan shared a still from the Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol-starrer and captioned: "Nine years of My Name Is Khan... I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story... thank you for creating it Shibani... and thank you SRK for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly." He added: "Thank you Kajol for your eyes... your silences and more."

The film revolves around a character named Rizvan Khan, who embarks on a journey to meet the US president and attempts to change people's perception about his religion.

Nicki Minaj Calls out Grammy Awards Producer Over Bullying

Rapper Nicki Minaj has slammed Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich for allegedly bullying her. After the 2019 Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, Minaj took to Twitter and called out Ehrlich saying she was bullied for seven years, reports Fox News.

Earlier, rapper Ariana Grande had criticised Ehrlich for "lying" about her reasons for pulling out of a performance at this year's Grammys.

Minaj tweeted: "I pissed off the same man Ariana just called out for lying. Grammy producer Ken. I was bullied into staying quiet for seven years out of fear. But I'll tell my fans the real on the next episode of 'Queen Radio' they deserve the truth. Also, congrats to everyone who won last night."

The "Bang Bang" hitmaker has announced she will not be performing at the BET Experience, a concert preceding the 2019 BET Awards in June. Hours later, BET released a statement apologising for their Grammys coverage, stating: "BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Unfortunately, the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki... We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused."

Divine, Naezy Collaborate With Hip-Hop Star Nas

Rappers Divine and Naezy have come up with a new track "NY Se Mumbai", featuring US hip-hop star Nas, who is known for songs like "One Mic" and "Nas is Like". The global collaboration also features producer iLL Wayno, and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.

"Nas is my idol, I've looked up to him all my life. When I first heard his album Illmatic, it gave me the chills, I was inspired to tell my story. I saw him perform in Dubai recently" Divine said in a statement. He added: "I was shook and inspired all over again. I cannot digest that I'm on the same beat as him. Big shoutout to everyone that made this happen. And Naezy is back."

"NY Se Mumbai" is the end credit song for "Gully Boy", starring Ranveer and Alia Bhatt. Nas is an executive producer for the forthcoming film. Wayno said: "Working on 'NY Se Mumbai', for me, was an affirmation of my understanding that hip-hop has a global reach and cultures around the world are more similar than they are different."

Bappi Lahiri to Make a Cameo in Tv Show

Veteran singer-composer Bappi Lahiri has been roped in to do a cameo in the TV show "Ladies Special".

"I am excited to be a part of the show. It is a slice of life show that brings forth everyday struggles of people. Being in the industry for so long, I can relate to this," Bappi said.

Actress Chavvi Pandey, who plays Prarthna Kashyap in the show, has been portrayed as an aspiring singer in it.

In the show, Bappi is working on a music album and is in search of soulful voices yet to be recognised by the industry. While searching for the singer, Bappi comes across an online video of Prarthna, which has gone viral. He asks Prarthna to record a song with him, read a Sony Entertainment Television channel statement.

"I have personally seen and heard Chavvi singing and I must say her voice is really soulful and can create magic. When I was asked to do this role, it didn't take me even a second to accept it," he said.
