Karan Johar says Khushi Kapoor is likely to make her Bollywood debut in 2019.

Karan Johar has earned himself the reputation of being godfather to several star kids such as Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Ishaan Khatter whose Bollywood careers he has launched. As a result, he’s found himself at the centre of the nepotism debate which he occasionally tries to smooth over with self-referential jokes knowing full well he can’t deny it.

The next lucky kid in line to take a leap off the KJo launchpad could very well be Khushi Kapoor, the late Sridevi’s youngest daughter and sister to Janhvi and Arjun Kapoor. Karan hinted at the same in an appearance on Neha Dhupia’s podcast #NoFilterNeha.

He also mentioned Javed Jaffrey’s son Mizaan as another potential Bollywood newcomer in 2019. “Mizaan is going to be amazing, he is a potential big star and a great dancer. And Khushi perhaps, she is gorgeous and lovely,” he said when asked about the stars who he thinks will make their debut in the new year.

Karan launched Janhvi Kapoor in Dhadak, the Hindi remake of Marathi hit Sairat. While there’s no word on the exact project Khushi will be seen in yet, rumour has it that Mizaan will feature in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali production.

Karan will also be launching Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya in Student of the Year 2, and Alia and Janhvi will be seen in KJo’s upcoming period drama Takht.
