Actor Irrfan Khan, who has been in London for a long time, returned to Mumbai on Friday, 13 September. The actor was spotted while being wheeled out of the Mumbai airport late last evening, leading to speculations about his health status. The actor was seen covering his face as the paparazzi began to click him while leaving the airport.

Irrfan’s spokesperson had now clarified that the actor is in Mumbai after a “successful surgery” in London.

After wrapping up the shoot of his film Angrezi Medium, a sequel to his hit film, Hindi Medium, the actor had flown back to London recently.

A spokesperson for Irrfan said in a statement: “Irrfan had a successful surgery after wrapping up Angrezi Medium shoot in London. He was missing home and has come to Mumbai for a few days and recover. We request the media to not speculate and thanking everyone again for the continued support.”

Irrfan had earlier been living in the English capital for several months for his treatment after he was diagnosed with NeuroEndocrine Tumour. The actor had shared about his health condition in a Twitter post in March 2018.

Irrfan had returned to India after his treatment in UK to shoot for Angrezi Medium. The actor shot for the film in Udaipur in May this year. He had flown back to London, after wrapping up the film in July.

Irrfan will next be seen on screen in Angrezi Medium, which is slated to release in theatres on 24 April, 2020. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor and Radhika Madan.
