‘Half Girlfriend’ Stands Strong at the Box Office on Day 1

Despite average reviews, ‘Half Girlfriend’ does good business on opening day.

Mohit Suri’s latest flick starring Shraddha and Arjun Kapoor got a strong start on opening day. Half Girlfriend, based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel by the same title, earned Rs 10.27 Crore on release day (Friday, May 19).

Though the film has been trashed by most critics for its paper thin story and average performances, its box office report suggests it’ll do good business in its opening weekend. The Irrfan Khan starrer Hindi Medium, which also hit theatres on the same day, only did a business of Rs 2.81 Crore on day one.
