The first look poster of Khandaani Shafakhana starring Sonakshi Sinha and marking rapper Badshah’s acting debut, released on Wednesday. Sonakshi dropped the poster on her Instagram handle and wrote, “Main jitna bolungi logo ko utni hi शर्म aani hai. #KhandaaniShafakhana trailer out in 2 days!”

The poster shows Sonakshi standing among a bunch of men, including Badshah, who are seen hiding their faces. There is also a board which has ‘sex clinic’ written on it and hints at Sonakshi’s character being named ‘Baby Bedi’. We wonder if the film is the latest one to touch the taboo subject, after the likes of Vicky Donor and Shubh Mangal Savdhaan. We’ll get to know more once the trailer releases on Saturday.
The actor had recently announced the name of the film on Instagram along with a picture of the team.
“Kab se pooch rahe hai picture ka naam kya hai? PICTURE KA NAAM MIL GAYA!!!
I’m thrilled to announce my film KHANDAANI SHAFAKHANA releasing on 26th July!”, she wrote.
Khandaani Shafakhana is a slice-of-life film being helmed by debutante director Shilpi Dasgupta. While Sonakshi Sinha plays a prominent role, the film also stars other actors like Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Nadira Babbar. Badhsha had made the announcement that he would be joining the cast of the film on 11 Feb 2019. He took to Twitter to write, “Journey begins today. Need your wishes and blessings.”
In a report by an entertainment publication, details of Badshah’s character were revealed. According to sources, Badshah will be playing a role that’s similar to his real life persona - a famous Punjabi singer. 2019 has been a year of firsts for the singer as he is making his debut as an actor as well as a producer.
