Ever since the news of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Inshallah being shelved broke out, several rumours have started doing the rounds. According to one such rumour, Bhansali and Salman had a disagreement over who would be the leading lady of the film. However, a source has confirmed that Kalank actor Alia Bhatt is definitely still a part of the project and will be starring opposite Salman Khan.

A source close to the film said that Alia was the first choice for Inshallah and Salman had no say whatsoever in the casting of the film.

“Alia was always the first choice. Salman didn’t push for anyone. If you know Sanjay Leela Bhansali then you will also know that he doesn’t listen to anyone or take to casting advice. He goes with who he thinks is right for the role.”

The source further added that the female character in the film has been written with “a certain flavour in mind” and that “there was no chance that the names doing the rounds would make it to the film.”

According to one of the rumours, Salman Khan had preferences about who should play the leading female role in the film. He was inclined to work with either Daisy Shah or Waluscha De Sousa, instead of Alia Bhatt. This did not go well with Sanjay Leela Bhansali as he was sure he wanted to cast Alia in the role and the same had been confirmed as well.

Inshallah will be the first time Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan will be sharing screen space. The film was supposed to release on Eid 2020. However, the release of the film has been pushed. Salman took to Twitter to tweet about the same. He wrote, “The film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is pushed but I will still see you all on Eid, 2020. Insha-Allah!!”

Salman has also dropped a hint about which film will be releasing on Eid 2020. Salman tweeted, “Itna mat sochna mere baare mein, Dil mein aata hoon.. aur Eid pe bhi(Don’t think so much about me. I reside in your hearts..and also arrive on Eid),” followed by a wink emoji.

The tweet seems to borrow from Salman’s famous dialogue uttered by the actor in Kick. Kick released in 2014 on Eid and was a blockbuster at the box office.

The dialogue went like this, “Mere bare mein itna mat sochna, dil mein aata hoon samajh mein nahi (Don't worry so much about me, I reside in your hearts but not in your perception)."

Fans are now speculating that the tweet implies that Inshallah will be replaced by Kick 2 instead.
