1. Karan Johar Announces ‘Takht’ With a Dream Star Cast

Karan Johar has just announced his next magnum opus, Takht. The historic multi-starrer boasts a formidable lead line-up with Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. The film is written by Sumit Roy and would be helmed by Johar himself.

2. Manmarziyaan Trailer: Abhishek-Taapsee-Vicky’s Searing Love Story

The trailer of Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan is out and it looks like we’re getting an intense love triangle. Starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, the film plays around the themes of love, passion and commitment.

The trailer revolves around a passionate love story between Vicky (an unrecognisable Vicky Kaushal) and Rumi (Taapsee Pannu), which runs into trouble when she has to marry the “Ram ji” type Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan). What was passionate now turns intense and searing.

The never-ending nepotism debate will never stop trending. Every other day, some Bollywood celebrity or the other makes a statement on the subject, either supporting or opposing star kids being given preference over outsiders in the industry. Most recently, producer Ekta Kapoor and actor Tiger Shroff’s mother, Ayesha Shroff, engaged in a debate about nepotism on Instagram.

It began on 7 August, when Ekta posted about the promo of her and Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu, directed by Imtiaz’s brother, Sajid Ali.

4. ‘Dilbar’ Star, Nora Fatehi Sizzles In ‘Kamariya’ From ‘Stree’

After the huge popularity of her song Dilbar in John Abraham-starrer Satyameva Jayate, Moroccan-Canadian dancer Nora Fatehi is now rocking her desi swag in Kamariya, the latest track from Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy Stree, starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurana.

Sung by Aastha Gill, Sachin Sanghvi, Jigar Saraiya and Divya Kumar and composed by Sachin-Jigar, Kamariya is a groovy dance number.

5. ‘Sacred Games’ Row: Netflix Refuses to Give in to Censorship

The Delhi High Court was informed on 7 August that Netflix has not changed an alleged objectionable word in its series Sacred Games that was used to describe former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

A bench of justices Sanjiv Khanna and Chander Shekhar was told by the counsel for the streaming service that a partly-wrong statement was made by him earlier and that neither have they changed the word in the English subtitles nor do they want to change it.

“My instructions are that we don’t want to change the word,” senior advocate Chander Lal, appearing for Netflix, said.
