Ridiculous: John Criticizes Maharashtra Govt for Cutting Trees in Aarey

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran star John Abraham described the Maharashtra government's decision to cut down 33 hectares of green carpet for the development of the Metro 3 car shed in Mumbai as "ridiculous".

John was voicing his concern over the water crisis when he made the comment, during the trailer launch of his upcoming film Batla House in Mumbai on Wednesday 10 July.

‘Batla House’ Trailer: John Abraham Strives to Bring out the Truth

The trailer of John Abraham-starrer Batla House has finally dropped and it looks quite intriguing. The film is based on the true incidents of the Batla House encounter of Indian Mujahideen terrorists which took place in 2008.

The trailer follows John Abraham, playing the role of IPS Sanjeev Kumar, through the encounter and the investigation that follows. It shows the controversies surrounding the incident, how the encounter is labelled fake by the public and media and how John’s character strives to bring out the truth. Mrunal Thakur and Nora Fatehi too are seen in pivotal roles.

Journalists Thank Ekta for Support, But Continue Ban on Kangana

The Entertainment Journalists Guild has issued a fresh statement, thanking Ekta Kapoor, joint managing director of Balaji Telefilms, for her support, but has also refused to revoke the ban on Kangana Ranaut.

“The Entertainment Journalists Guild appreciates Ms Ekta Kapoor’s support and standing for what is right through her official statement. However, we will continue the ban on Ms Kangana Ranaut across all media platforms,” the statement reads.

Karisma Kapoor Speaks About Saif's Ali Khan's Gift to Her

Karisma Kapoor will step in for her sister Kareena in one of the episodes of Dance India Dance 7, in which the latter is a judge. During the shooting of the episode, Karisma opened up about a special gift from Saif Ali Khan on his and Kareena’s wedding. “Saif Ali Khan, in his Nawabi style, gifted me a pair of earrings that is a prized possession even today”, Karisma said.

Kareena Kapoor is busy preparing for her film with Irrfan Khan, Angrezi Medium.

Ajay Devgn to Start Shooting for 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' With Sanjay Dutt in Hyderabad

Sanjay Dutt has started shooting for Bhuj: The Pride of India on 25 June at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The film marks the directorial debut of Abhishek Dudhaiya. A few days later, Sonakshi Sinha had also joined Dutt on the sets. Now, Ajay Devgn will also start the Hyderabad shoot as he is back from a vacation with Kajol and the kids, Mumbai Mirror reported.

“Ajay Devgn will shoot his portions with Sanjay Dutt on 11 July in Hyderabad. After that, he will fly to Gujarat where a major portion of the film will be shot”, a source told Mumbai Mirror. Ajay’s character is based on Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who was in charge of the Bhuj airbase during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, which remained operational despite heavy bombing from Pakistan.
