Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s Aiyaari was originally slated to release on January 25 to make the most of the long Republic Day weekend. It’s release was deferred to February 9 to avoid clash with Padmaavat and PadMan. PadMan was later deferred to February 9 in solidarity with Bhansali.

Now Aiyaari again seems to be forced to move its release date. Taran Adarsh confirmed on Twitter that the new release date of the Neeraj Pandey directorial is now 16 February.

In Aiyaary, Sidharth essays the character of an army officer who has an ideological difference with another senior officer, played by Manoj Bajpayee. The crime thriller revolves around a rogue major who can bring down the government and an East Indian colonel has 36 hours to capture his former protégé.

Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan is based on the life of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Murugunantham’s Aiyaari.

Neeraj Pandey and Akshay have given us memorable hits like Special 26 and Baby.
