1. Akshay Kumar Brings Up What Really Matters In The India-Pak Debate

Amidst the on-going chaos and tension between India and Pakistan, actor Akshay Kumar tweeted a video standing strongly by our jawans. He actually nails the most important point of it all - which is neither Pakistani artists being banned, nor is it the legitimacy of the surgical strikes.

Friends, let’s argue later, first we shoudl think about the fact that soldiers have already given their lives for the country at the border. 19 soldiers were killed in Uri and one 24 year old Nitin Yadav martyred in Baramulla. Do their families or those of our other jawans care about films releasing or not? Or about artistes being banned? No. They’re only worried about one thing and one thing only, and that is their future. And we should be worried about their present and their future, which needs to be secured. It is for them that you and I are alive. It is for them that India stands free. Jai Hind.

As the son of an army man, Akshay brings our focus back to the main issue, which should be the lives and wellbeing of our soldiers and their families. Now that’s a message Indian leaders, people and artistes really needed to hear.

I want you guys to stay sweet, gentle, amazing and beautiful. Because even though the world may think that it’s a shitty place to live in, it is beautiful. You guys are the force. And the force is going to be with you, forever.

4. Rishi Kapoor Wants All of Pakistan to Condemn the Uri Attack

Ever since Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA) passed a resolution to ban Pakistani actors and technicians, many in Bollywood have condemned the ban while others have welcomed the step as a way to isolate Pakistan.

Rishi Kapoor also took to Twitter to question the silence of Pakistani artistes as well as the Pakistani janta in condemning the Uri attack.

Think. Why only Pakistani artists should condemn the terrorist attack? Whole of Pakistan should. After all they deny any hand in the Uri attack. By not condemning and keeping quiet, you are confirming Pakistan as being the terrorists. Pakistan, if you are not guilty, condemn them! Simple.
Rishi Kapoor, Actor

While there were those who agreed with the veteran, many questioned as to why all of Pakistan should apologise for the actions of a few.

Rishi also replied to a citizen from Pakistan that everyone should stay united against terrorism.

5. Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Quantico’ Ratings Dip In Season Two

Priyanka’s American TV series, Quantico began it’s second season this month and she will soon be making her Hollywood debut in Baywatch with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. But does the actress who had a successful season one withQuantico have reason to worry?

According to the TV ratings on Variety, the first episode of the second season saw a slow start for the show. According to Nielson, Quantico returned with a 1.0 and 3.6 million viewers from the age group of 18-49 years. This is 49% lower than its viewers from Season 1 when the show premiered on ABC.

But the second episode of the season titled Lipstick seems to have picked up a 100% (2.0) on the ratings chart. But this is still significantly lower than the previous season which saw an estimated 2.85 in ratings for ABC’s rookie show in the first three episodes. According to Variety, season one of Quantico was ranked 20th among all prime-time programs in 18-49 years and 14th among scripted series.

Breaking down the numbers: Here’s how Nielson calculates its ratings points, according to TVByNumbers:

“If you see a 3.4 national adults 18-49 rating, that doesn’t mean 3.4 million adults 18-49, it just means 3.4 percent of the 127,860,000 adults 18-49 in the United States (down from 131,490,000 last season) who live in a household with a television were watching based on the Nielsen estimates for the 2011-12 television season.”
