Vijay was also invited for SIAA’s (South Indian Actors’ Association) silent protest urging Union Government to pass an ordinance to withdraw the ban against Jallikattu. However, Vijay politely informed the organisers that he will not be attending the event.

“Vijay didn’t attend Nadigar Sangam’s (Actors Association) silent protest because his fans, who are also part of the Marina protest insisted him that protesters only want actors to join them at Marina,” said a source close to the actor.

The point made by the youngsters was that if actors organise an independent protest, media’s attention will be divided, which will only deviate the main focus of their protest.
