Very rarely does Indian politics throw heartwarming sights at you. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s trip to Uttar Pradesh to meet families of two soldiers killed in the Pulwama terror attack was one of those.
The official Facebook page of Rahul Gandhi had live videos of Rahul and Priyanka along with Congress leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia and Raj Babbar having tea and snacks from a roadside dhaba in Uttar Pradesh, while the locals gathered around and asked for selfies.
When the brother-sister duo reached Shamli to pay respects to soldier Amit Kori and meet his family at a prayer meeting, Rahul Gandhi’s official Facebook page put out a live video saying he is “feeling loved.”
The Gandhi siblings consoled the family members amidst chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and thanked them on behalf of the nation.
Twitterati also applauded the ‘low key’ visit.
Out of the 40 troopers killed in Pulwama, 12 were from Uttar Pradesh.
