In an exclusive interview with The Quint, MoS Finance and Corporate Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal agreed that people are facing inconvenience after the ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, but they are with the government. Otherwise, they would have been agitating on the roads. He refused to accept that continuous alterations in the rules and regulations by the government had knee-jerking reactions.
The Minister of State for Finance claimed that things would be on track in 50 days as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Experts are pointing fingers at the money coming back to the banks. It has crossed the figure of Rs 13 lakh crore, which is much more than the initial estimate of the government.
But Meghwal declared this data appearing in the media to be wrong. He said the note ban is an attack on the corrupt mindset, and it will change the means of trade.
