A 56-year-old bank manager was found dead in Haryana after spending three days at work following the government’s demonetisation policy, reported Hindustan Times.

The deceased was identified as Rajesh Kumar, the manager of Rohtak’s Cooperative Bank, who died of a massive heart attack after attending to customers for three consecutive nights.

“Due to increased work-load, Kumar had been sleeping in his office for the past three days. His family said he was on medications for heart disease,” Shivaji colony police station in-charge Neeraj Kumar said. Following the manager’s death, work at the bank has been suspended for now.

Banks in the country have been struggling to control panic since Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were announced as illegal tender from 8 November midnight. With people queueing up outside banks everyday to exchange or deposit their old notes, banks were open for the weekend, i.e., 12 and 13 November as well.
