A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Wednesday, 24 March, claiming that the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has lost moral ground to stay in power.
“Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has lost moral ground, they are working only for power. After so many incidents, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray is silent, Sharad Pawar sahab held two press conference, he just tried to protect the minister,” Devendra Fadnavis said, after the delegation’s meeting with the governor, reported ANI.
Fadnavis added that he is “not afraid” even if the government decides to file a case against him.
“If they have to register a case about leaking official secrets, I have done that for Maharashtra's interest. If they file a case against me, I'm not afraid. If there are 4 more cases against me, I'm ready. I will go to court and prove my point,” he added.
‘MVA Doesn’t Care About COVID in Maharashtra’
Fadnavis also slammed the MVA government for not taking measures to control the COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra.
“This government is not bothered about the COVID-19 situation in the state. The way in which cases are increasing, it has become the epicentre. I don’t understand what has this government done to control it? It is time to act and not give lectures.”Devendra Fadnavis, reported by ANI
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will hear the plea of former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh, seeking a CBI investigation in the alleged corrupt practices of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, on Wednesday, 24 March.
Singh has also challenged his transfer order in the plea.
Singh on Monday, 22 March, had filed a petition before the apex court against his transfer to the Home Guard Department by the Maharashtra government in the backdrop of the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare case and his alleged proximity with former API Sachin Vaze who was arrested in the case.
