Continuing a downward trend, India on Sunday, 30 May, reported 1,65,553 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 2,78,94,800. The death toll stands at 3,25,972.

While some states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have gradually started unlocking, other states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Telangana have further extended the lockdown.

Meanwhile, the Union government has announced measures to help families who lost earning member due to COVID-19 and children who have lost both parents during the deadly second wave.

Maharashtra Extends Lockdown Till 15 June

Maharashtra has extended lockdown extended till 15 June. Most affected districts will face stricter curbs while others will be relaxed. Shops and establishments to be allowed from 7 AM to 2 PM.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday visited Covid facilities at Erode, Tiruppur and Coimbatore districts where the daily cases are hitting new high in the western pockets of the state.

The CM also reviewed the treatment being provided to the patients at these centres.

India Reports 1.65 Lakh New COVID Cases in Last 24 Hours, 3,460 Deaths

According to the Health Ministry, India reported 1,65,553 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country’s total case tally to 2,78,94,800. With 3,460 deaths in the last 24 hours, India’s total death toll has reached 3,25,972.

27,17,372 doses of vaccines were administered.

Consignment of AmBisome, Used in Black Fungus Treatment, Reaches India From US

Ambassador of India to the United States, Taranjit Singh Sandhu took to Twitter to announce that another consignment of AmBisome manufactured by US based Gilead Sciences has reached India.

Another consignment of AmBisome from @GileadSciences, used in Black Fungus treatment, reaches India. Total 200,000 doses already there so far. More to follow!,” he wrote.
