MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Tests COVID +Ve, Hospitalised

The minister has requested those who came in contact with him to get tested and quarantine themselves.

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted that he is getting admitted in Charayu Hospital on the advice of his doctors after testing positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, 25 July.

“My doctors have advised me to get admitted in a hospital. I will be going to COVID-19 dedicate Charayu hospital. Coronavirus infected patients should not be stubborn about quarantining at home. We should always follow the doctor’s suggestions. I urge all my friends to not to be negligent if you have any symptoms of #COVID19. Get an immediate test and start treatment.”

Shivraj Singh Chouhan tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Saturday, 25 July. In a series of tweets, Chouhan announced that he started experiencing the symptoms of COVID-19, after which he got tested and his results came out positive.

An ambulance has arrived at his residence, reported ANI.

“I am following all COVID guidelines,” Chouhand had tweeted. He had also formerly said, “I will quarantine myself according to the doctor's advice. I appeal to the people of my state to be careful, just a little carelessness invites coronavirus.”

Chouhan further tweeted that he did a lot to prevent contracting the COVID-19 infection, but he had to keep meeting people to discuss various subjects.

Following Jyotiraditya Scindia’s rebellion, and the loss of twenty-two MLAs, Congress leader Kamal Nath had resigned as the Madhya Pradesh chief minister in March, and BJP’s Shivraj Singh Chouhan had taken over.

He was sworn in amid the pandemic. Chouhan, since, has spent a lot of time meeting people and discharging his freshly acquired chief ministerial duties. In fact, while Chouhan had taken over in March, he had been assigning portfolios as recently as July.

On a note of optimism, Chouhan tweeted, that a patient can recover completely if treated in a timely manner for COVID-19.
