Amid a COVID-19 spike in Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced on Tuesday, 4 January, that a weekend curfew would be imposed in the national capital on Saturdays and Sundays. This will continue until further orders.

What are the timings of weekend curfew?

Weekend curfew will start at 10 pm on Friday and end at 5 am on Monday.

What is allowed during weekend curfew?

Only essential services are allowed during weekend curfew from Friday, 10 pm to Monday, 5 am.

Who can step during weekend curfew?

  • Officials involved in essential and emergency services

  • Judges and judicial officers

  • Offices of diplomats

  • All private medical personnel such as doctors and nursing staff

  • Patients in need of medical services

  • Persons who are getting tested, vaccinated

  • Persons going/coming from airports/railway stations/ISBTs

  • Media personnel

What are the restrictions on offices?

Government employees, except those working in essential services, will work from home

Private offices will be allowed to function with 50 percent capacity.

What are the restrictions on public transport?

  • Buses and metros will operate at full capacity

  • However, no one will be allowed to enter without a mask

What are the timings of night curfew?

A 10 pm to 5 am night curfew is already in place in Delhi as part of "yellow alert."
