Dear India,

We are a developing country, and, unfortunately the majority of our population is poor. There is a lot of social inequality that exists in our country. Till the time the gap between the haves and have nots does not reduce, there will always be an unrest and this will hindered the growth of our country.

Therefore it’s important we empower people who are from the low economic strata. And the only way to do this is by providing quality education. To build a strong wall, we need to lay a solid foundation. So to provide good quality education, we need to hire the best teachers who could impart this education to the young minds. We don’t need just teachers who carry a bunch of professional degrees, but we also need teachers who have a zeal to teach and to make a difference.

Children are India’s tomorrow and they deserve the best. I hope that the salary of the teachers is increased so that many opt for this profession by choice and not just as a backup profession. There need to be some incentives for the teachers.

To ensure that the teachers are doing their job, there needs to be an assessment grid to track their output. This way we can track who is doing their job properly.

What is also required is to have more sections in a class, but each section should have lesser number of children. This will allow the teacher to pay more attention to the needs of every child. India, I really think we need to restructure our education system.

Thanks,
Anil Kumar Jaswal
