The Quint caught up with three Indian women football players – Dalima Chhibber (midfielder), Ngangom Bala Devi (Indian captain) and Oinam Bembem Devi (former India captain) at the launch of the country’s first ever women’s football league, called Indian women’s league (IWL).

The league was launched by the All India Football Federation at New Delhi on Tuesday.

The players spoke about the struggles and stereotypes an Indian woman footballer has to face. They also expressed excitement with how IWL will help Indian women’s football.
