In a bid to impart survival skills in toddlers, a young couple from Spain is now giving swimming lessons to babies as young as six-months-old.

The video and images of babies fighting to right themselves in order to take a lung full of air may look disturbing to many, with parents in particular finding their hearts in their mouths from what they witness.

However, the Swim Survival Technique is popular in America and has been brought to the UK by International Swimming Academy instructors and lifeguards Silvia Garcia and Miguel Jerez (both 34) from Albacete in Spain, who have taught over 100 children in the last year, many as young as six-months-old.
