In another case of animal cruelty, three dogs were found shot dead in Hyderabad on Monday. A case has been registered against unidentified persons and police investigation is underway.

Not An Isolated Incident

  • In the recent past, three puppies were burned alive in Hyderabad.
  • The case of a medical student in Chennai throwing a puppy from the terrace of a building came as a shocker.
  • Also, a helpless bitch had to witness her eight pups being butchered heartlessly before her.

Gauri Mulekhi, an animal rights activist said that those who perpetrate cruelty toward animals go on to become psychopaths and criminals later on.

The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act was initiated in 1960. However, the laws that decide penalties for acts of cruelty to animals remain outdated and need revision.
