(Dussehra is here, The Quint is reposting this piece on these adorable soldiers of Hanuman’s Army, originally published in October 2015)

With the Ramlilas bringing to life the mythological characters of Lord Ram, Lakshman, Sita and Ravana across the country, The Quint met a gang of playful Vaanar Sena members – soldiers of Hanuman’s army – at the Ashram Ramlila in New Delhi.

This Vaanar Sena has cute munchkins whose acting comes straight from the heart and sometimes they sing and dance too.

Don’t underestimate them. They have everything it takes to own the stage. The kids know how to flex their muscles, get the anger flowing and run, all while chanting, “Jai Shri Ram”.
