Last-minute invitees to the I-League, Aizawl FC scripted the greatest underdog story in the tournament’s 10-year history.
Needing just a draw in their last league fixture to bag the title, Aizawl pulled off a 1-1 draw against Shillong Lajong FC to become the first club from the north-east to win the I-League.
