Director Abhishek Chaubey’s latest film Sonchiriya released Friday 1 March and the reviews are in. The film stars Sushan Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey. Set in the Chambal valley, the film follows the story of a legion of dreaded, warring dacoits. Sonchiriya is an RSVP production and the music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj.

Abhishek has earlier directed films like Ishqiya, Dedh Ishqiya and Udta Punjab. Expectations were high for his fourth film and from the looks of it he doesn’t disappoint. The first audiences to watch Sonchiriya walked out appreciating the film for it’s craft, authenticity and performances. The public had especially good things to say Bhumi Pednekar’s transformative performance.

Take a look at what they had to say.
