Aarna, a proud six-year old daughter gave a final salute to her father, CRPF Commander Pramod Kumar how was martyred at Nawhatta Chowk, an hour after he unfurled the tricolour on independence day.

The last words he uttered were “it is a very important day”, before he was shot down by the militants.

Eight CRPF personnel were injured and two terrorists were killed in the gun-battle that took place on 15 August.

Kumar’s body was brought to his village Mihijam in Jamtara (Jharkhand) for his last rites on Tuesday.
