The gunman who opened fire at Pulse – a gay night club in Orlando, Florida – early on Sunday injuring anywhere between 7 and 20 people, has died inside the nightclub, Orland Police said.

The cause of his death is still unknown.

Violence erupted at the nightclub, which urged patrons to “get out” and “keep running” in a post on its Facebook page.

The number of casualties remain unconfirmed. Several patrons posted on social media, saying that a gunman had barricaded himself inside the club and taken hostages.

The Orlando Police confirmed the shooting with a tweet and have advised people to stay away from the area.
