Rio Star Dipa Karmakar Visits Rs 4.6 Cr Gold-Adorned Durga Idol 

The Puja organisers have spent Rs 4.60 crore on the gold-plated idol.

Rio Olympics Star Dipa Karmakar took part in Durga Puja celebrations in Agartala on Saturday and paid her respects to a Goddess Durga idol adorned with gold jewellery worth Rs 4.6 crore. The idol, with its super-expensive ornaments, is said be the world’s costliest image of the goddess.

The pandal has been set up in Agartala’s Chatra Bandhu club. Images of Laxmi, Saraswati, Ganesh and Kartik have also been embellished with gold ornaments and placed alongside the Durga idol.
