Record Breaker – that’s the one tag that will follow this young 15-year-old from Mumbai for a long long time.

Unknown to most of the world before yesterday, Pranav Dhanawade became the first-ever batsman in history to score 1000+ runs in a match in any level of cricket, on Tuesday.

After his historic innings, Pranav said:

I am grateful to my coach for inspiring me and encouraging me. After this I wish to play state level cricket and one day make it to the Ranji Trophy.

‘The prodigy’, as he’s fast been christened, finished the inter-school match on Monday unbeaten on 652 in the Bhandari Trophy, the equivalent of Harris Shield for Mumbai suburbs. Earlier today though, this auto driver’s son wasted no time to forge ahead, getting to the first-ever four-figure mark ever.
