Ranu Mondal is a name every Indian is aware of. This 58-year-old woman never imagined that one day she will live a life every singer dreams of.

Dressed in a maroon saree and sitting in a studio in Andheri, Mumbai, Ranu Mondal has been giving back to back interviews. She just sang a song for Himesh Reshammiya's next film, Happy, Hardy and Heer. The song is titled Teri Meri Kahani. Even the video of her recording the song has gone viral.

Still devoid of all the glitz and glamour and what people have to say, Ranu says she loves to sing like Lata Mangeshkar. She loves her voice and even the veteran singer talks. She never got tired of singing.

Ranu was discovered by Atindra Chakraborty from Ranaghat, West Bengal. He shot a video of her singing and posted it on his Facebook page. Little did he know that not only Ranu but even he will become famous because of that video. He accompanied Ranu to Mumbai after they got a call from Superstar Singer in which Himesh Reshammiya was a judge.

While chatting with them I asked about the rumours doing the rounds that apparently Salman Khan has gifted a house to Ranu Mondal. Immediately after asking her this I realised she had no clue what I was talking about. All she had to say was how grateful she is for where she is today and how much she is in love with Mumbai.

Watch the video to know more about what Ranu Mondal has to say.
