Rahul Gandhi, Brinda Karat Meet Dalit Family in Faridabad

Rahul Gandhi, Brinda Karat visit Dalit family whose children were burnt to death after their house was set ablaze.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has met the Dalit family whose house was set on fire in Faridabad. Both children in the family, a five-year-old and a nine-month-old, succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday. Their mother is critical in Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.

Rahul Gandhi was in Sunped at noon and spoke with the family. He accused Modi, Haryana CM Khattar, the BJP-RSS combine of practicising “politics of crushing” those who are weak.

Earlier in the day, politburo member Brinda Karat also visited the family.

Dalits, including children, blocked the Faridabad highway on earlier on Wednesday, demanding stringent action against the guilty.

The family later agreed to cremate the children. A probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI has also been ordered.
