Radhika Apte has had a splendid run this year. She has had roles in multiple films on the big screen such as Padman, Bazaar and Andhadhun. We also saw her take over Netflix in popular web series like Sacred Games, Lust Stories and Ghoul. She’s also lent her voice to the audiobook version of Mafia Queens of Mumbai, a book on women of Mumbai’s underworld by Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges.

Lust Stories was a big hit. The actor played the role of Kalindi, a woman in an open relationship who has an affair with her student, and gave the audience some memorable monologues. With Ghoul, people spoke about the how the premise was ‘scary in unusual ways’. Her so called ‘omnipresence’ on Netflix, owing to her association with multiple projects that released close together on the streaming platform, has spawned several memes.

The Quint also spoke to Radhika about the ongoing #MeToo movement in Bollywood. “Sometimes things happen and you don’t even realise it’s wrong,” she says. She also adds that she was feels that it’s important to think if you are using your position of power in any way to abuse someone, whether you’re a man or a woman.

A producer tried to use his power against me. I just took off my jewellery and said ‘Bye bye’. He then sued me but nothing happened.
