There’s cruelty and suffering behind every accessory and article of clothing made of exotic skins—and a recent viral video from PETA Asia couldn’t have made the grisly connection any clearer. Shoppers at a Bangkok mall were drawn to the jackets, shoes, and accessories on display at The Leather Work, a shop that was conceptualised and created for PETA Asia by Ogilvy & Mather’s Bangkok office. When the shoppers took a closer look, though, they learned about the cold-blooded cruelty of the exotic-skins industry.

Very few people are aware of the extreme cruelty that animals suffer to be turned into exotic skin products. Some are even skinned alive during the manufacturing of luxury leather goods.
