Patna Police has started a new campaign of patrolling on bicycles. The idea of this campaign was the brainchild of Patna SSP Manu Maharaj. He started this initiative to curb minor incidents of crime and to ensure patrolling in places where police presence was low.

The experiment has been presently implemented in six thanas across the city with 30 bicycles for as many constables. The ambit of the cycle patrolling will be increased if the experiment succeeds.
