Witnesses Walk-by as Drunk Man Rapes Woman on Vizag Footpath

Has India become a mute spectator to atrocities committed against its women? In perhaps the worst of all rape incidents, a video shows heartless pedestrians walking away even as a drunk man raped what appeared to be an unconscious woman on a footpath next to a busy road in Vizag.
According to CNN News18, the incident occurred on Sunday at around 2 pm in broad daylight — bright enough for everybody to notice the act of crime taking place out in the open when a 20-year-old drunk man raped a seemingly homeless woman who was seated next to a tree.
Even the auto rickshaw driver who shot the incident on his mobile phone and informed the police did not actually intervene to try and stop the man.
The police have reportedly arrested the man and sent the woman to a hospital.
