Will the BJP make a comeback in Jharkhand Assembly polls? Will Ayodhya verdict have any impact in Jharkhand? Is the youth of Jharkhand angry over unemployment, slowdown in economy or mob lynchings?

To get the answers of these questions, The Quint held the election chaupal at the famous Morabadi ground in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand.

“Development, education, hospitals and health of economy are big issues. Ruling government did not work as per expectations.”

Will Communalism & Nationalism Undermine Development?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally on 25 November in Daltanganj, Jharkhand said that Congress kept lingering on the dispute over lord Ram's birthplace. He said if they wanted, they could have found a solution way earlier, but they did not want it.

He said they were only concerned about their vote bank, adding that this approach of Congress has caused harm to the nation and our society.

“There is a trend to call anyone anti-national. Nationalism is not only about sloganeering. We are being distracted from the real issues. Ranchi has still not received the land for IIM. We don’t have jobs and people have to discuss about Mandir-Masjid.”
Vivek, a Ranchi resident

Assembly polls for over 81 seats are being held in five phases in Jharkhand. The results will be declared on 23 December. First phase voting took place on 30 November and second phase is to be held on 7 December.
