Art-lovers can spend a penny in style at a public lavatory in Chongqing which resembles the Antoni Gaudi-designed Park Guell in Barcelona.

Visitors were seen streaming into the facility, which is named "the coolest toilet," on Monday as they took time out from sightseeing around the city's tourist district.

The toilet is surrounded by trees and has plants growing inside to help minimise the unpleasant smell of the lavatories. "I think the bathroom is quite special," said one visitor.

The site reportedly boasts a total of 1,000 toilets and urinals.
