I Think Even Jaitley Was Unaware of Demonetisation: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul said many economists including former PM Manmohan Singh had found the decision irrational.

Launching a vitriolic attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the demonetisation issue, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said the Modi was "laughing" while people were dying in queues outside banks and ATMs to withdraw money and the move will turn out to be a "big scam".

Taking about the Modi government on the eve of Winter Session of Parliament, he said many economists including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had found the decision to withdraw the high-value tenders to be without rationale.

Rahul Gandhi also added that Modi probably didn’t even tell Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley about the demonetisation move in advance.
