These Cows Chasing Away Asiatic Lions Don’t Need ‘Raksha’ Anymore
It is common for the lions in the Greater Gir forest to stray into nearby villages looking for food
Who doesn’t know the contrast between the anodyne nature of cattle and the aggressive nature of predators? But these cows in Gujarat seem to have reversed the course of nature.
In an amazing video clip, which was filmed in Rampar village in Amreli, cows are seen chasing away lions, at a village in Gujarat.
A few Asiatic lions, who probably strayed into a village close to the Gir forest, were roaming through the streets looking for food when a lone cow entered the road and made no attempt to flee the scene. It stood close by and a lion even tried to dodge it. Suddenly, three or four cows galloped on the road and chased the lions away.
Mayank Bhatt of Save Asiatic Lions Campaign said it was common for the lions in the Greater Gir forest to stray into nearby villages looking for food and that, apparently, some of the local cows had grown used to the big cats.
Seems like ‘Gau’ doesn’t need Raksha anymore.
