Supreme Court Adjourns Hearing In Ayodhya Case to January 2019

The SC has adjourned the Ayodhya case to January 2019 for fixing a schedule of hearing by an appropriate bench.

The Supreme Court on 29 October adjourned the hearing in the Ayodhya case to January 2019 for fixing a schedule of hearing by an appropriate bench.

Mahant Dharam Das, one of the priests at the forefront of the Ayodhya dispute, said that law is being played with by the Supreme court and the case should be heard daily.

The Supreme Court is playing with law. They should listen to the case everyday and quickly deliver the judgment. I can’t understand why is there a delay. I am not happy with the court’s decision. I would have been happy if the court had given the hearing date in two days. It is wrong that dates are being given keeping in mind the upcoming elections.

Former Union Minister P Chidambaram said that the BJP tries to polarise with the issue of Ram temple every five years and that the SC’s decision should be respected.

This is a familiar story. Every 5 years, before elections the BJP will try to polarise views on Ram Mandir. Congress party’s position as I understand is that the matter is before the SC. Everyone should wait until the SC decides the questions before it. I don’t think we should jump the gun.

Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the people of the country are waiting for a faster judgment on the Ayodhya issue.

Shia Waqf Board Chief Wasim Rizvi while attacking the Congress said that a few Muslim clerics and the Congress are responsible for the issue still pending a verdict.

Because of a few Muslim clerics and Congress’ government the Ram Mandir issue is still in court. The God who is the creator of the world is waiting for justice in a human court. This is extremely shameful.

A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph was hearing a batch of pleas challenging the Allahabad High Court's 2010 verdict by which the disputed land on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid area in Ayodhya was divided into three parts.
