A group of Indian residents in the United States has urged the Donald Trump administration to take action against the growing number of attacks on Indians in the country.

Deep Rai, a Sikh man, was shot at in Kent, Washington, days after alleged hate crimes claimed the lives of Indian-origin convenience store owner Harnish Patel and Indian techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla.

Deep Rai, an Indian-origin resident of Kent, was cleaning his car when he was approached by a “tall, white man” who asked him to “get out of the country.”

An FBI probe into the matter is now underway. Meanwhile, a Gurudwara in Washington DC held special prayers to restore peace.
