Bengaluru-based journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh was killed after unidentified men shot at her from close range outside her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, late on 5 September.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condemned Lankesh’s murder and said three police teams have been constituted to probe the killing and instructions have been issued to crack the case at the earliest.
