A sex racket in Panpur village of Mandsaur district in Madhya Pradesh has been busted. The police raided houses from which they rescued seven girls, of whom three are minors. The police have also held three men in connection with the racket.

When they (my team) checked the area, they found that some houses in Panpur [Mandsaur] were being used as brothels. We have rescued seven girls, out of whom three are minors. We have arrested the father of one of the minors. We have also arrested three others.

The victims including three minors have now been taken to a safe location. The police say they got the tip-off about the sex racket being run in Panpur village and immediately set off to raid the place. The police has also taken the minor girls’ fathers into custody.

There are about 2,000 minors who are involved in this prostitution racket. There are minors aged 12-13 from the Bacchda community. There are also a few from other communities.
