Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar called the designation of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin as a ‘global terrorist’ a ‘strong signal’ by the US administration, while addressing the press in Washington, DC on Monday.

Jaishankar called the delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump very cordial and open, adding that there was a great degree of ease between the two leaders during the meeting.

He added that issues related to terrorism took centre stage during the meeting and the two leaders were very keen on urging Pakistan to act on terror.

The two leaders called upon Pakistan to not let its territory be used for terror activities. They further called on Pakistan to expeditiously bring to justice perpetrators of the 26/11 attacks, Pathankot and other cross-border attacks.
