Accusing the Gurugram police of torture, bus conductor Ashok Kumar, the first person to be accused for the murder of Ryan International School student Pradyumn Thakur, said he was hung upside down by the cops.

Speaking to The Quint, Kumar said the police told him:

Do as you are told. We will get you a government lawyer. It is just a matter of few days.

Kumar said he asked the police to let him go, but they forcefully made him confess to the murder.

Bail After 76 Days

Seven-year-old Pradyumn was murdered on the school campus on 8 September, and his body was found in the toilet. After the incident, Kumar was arrested for the child’s murder.

Gurugram police had then said that Kumar has confessed to the crime. However, no evidence was found against the bus conductor once the case was handed over to the CBI.

Although, Kumar hasn’t been given a clean-chit by the CBI yet, he was released on bail after spending 76 days in prison.

‘Framed Under Conspiracy’

Kumar’s family and villagers claim that he has been made a scapegoat by the police. As Kumar’s wife Mamta says, the CBI has now arrested an 11th class student from the school for taking Pradyumn’s life.

According to the CBI, the senior student killed the 7-year-old boy just to get the parent-teacher meeting and the exams postponed.
