A class 4 student was allegedly beaten up by two teachers of Ryan International School in Jamalpur on 28 September. A case has been registered.

The police have received the medical report of the child and filed a complaint to take action in the matter.

“The kid wasn’t touched, I vouch for it. These are self-inflicted injuries, I am 100% certain of it. The teacher against whom the allegation has been raised…They are raising these allegations because the boy has been suspended. In any case the said teacher was out looking after the older children during recess,” the principal of Ryan International School Ludhiana said in response.

She further said that she had spoken to the boy during the last period informing him about the disciplinary action taken against him since he broke a fellow student’s tooth in a fist fight.

The child’s father stated that his son was beaten up due to a complaint he made against the high tension wires around the school.

Children were quarreling yesterday, then the teachers beat him up. I had complained about high tension wires around school. It is a result of that.

The school principal stated that the child was not touched by any of the school staff but had gotten into a brawl with another student. She also stated that he was suspended for a month, following the fight.
