Kamlesh Elani, a resident of Mumbai had booked a house in Viral in 2012. The possession of the house was due in 2016, but nothing materialised even after the deadline passed. Kamlesh reached out to Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) for help on 15 August 2017.

The RERA committee gave its judgement in favour of Kamlesh, and the builder was made to give Kamlesh Rs 26 lakh.

RERA expert Ramesh Prabhu explains in detail the process of filing a complaint like that and taking it forward to an acceptable resolution.
